Trek Overview:
During the day we will introduce you to a variety of skills that are necessary when goingfor a hike in the backcountry. These will include demonstrations of packing and preparing for the hike, learning to read a map to follow a trail, and a discussion about backcountry safety.
You might even earn to identify some of the trees and flowers along our way. At many points during the hike, we may stop in in our tracks to take in the breathtaking views of the mountains.
When we make it to our turn-around point it will be time for a trail lunch, where we will teach you how to set-up and use a camp stove to make lunch.
As we hike back down, we will take time to talk about being a leader and a good teammate in the outdoors, and beyond.
